Meet us at FITExpo 2026

We are showing AMD24 and this website at FITExpo 2026. Come and talk to the team about how we built a drone from scratch, what went wrong, and where AMD Labs goes next.

Our vision

The intelligent, modular aerial infrastructure for an evolving world.

Our mission

Providing the adaptable aerial systems industries need to evolve and thrive.

Why we did this

A low-budget drone at the enterprise level

We set out to make a low-budget drone at the enterprise level, and to build it from scratch, including the flight controller.

Our story

Our story began with our first-year microcontroller project. When we started, none of us knew anything about drones. We had a dream and a proposal, and we had to bring them into the real world.

Here you can learn about us and how we built it. We are Team MicroSolutions. After the project, we started an R&D startup called AMD Labs.

Our custom-built quadcopter

Drag to turn the 3D model. A custom flight controller built around an STM32H743 runs firmware we wrote ourselves. An ESP32 handles Wi-Fi, a second ESP32 runs our own transmitter, and a web dashboard shows it all live.

How It Flies

The Four Controls

Throttle

Controls altitude by motor speed

Yaw

Rotates drone nose in place

Pitch

Tilts forward or backward direction

Roll

Moves sideways by motor speed

Aeronexus Dashboard

Real-time telemetry and pilot interface, built by our team and running in any web browser.

Live attitude, waypoints and PID tuning, with changes saved to the flight controller.

Honest status

Where the drone stands today

This is a working research prototype and enterprise level is still our goal. We publish what works, what is limited and what still needs proving, because that is what helps the next builder.

DemonstratedCustom flight firmware with a 250 Hz control loop, sensor fusion and failsafes running on the STM32H743.
DemonstratedStable vertical liftoff, reached after about twelve months of testing, rig work and PID tuning.
DemonstratedAeronexus dashboard: live telemetry, live PID changes, saved gains and 3D magnetometer calibration.
DemonstratedCustom two-joystick transmitter with a radio link of about 100 m in clear line of sight.
LimitedSustained controlled hover in manual flight is not achieved yet. Thumb joysticks caused over-correction, so better gimbals are the next step.
LimitedMetal detection works as a first sweep. It finds the rough zone of a magnetic disturbance, not an exact point, depth or shape.
In codeGPS position hold, return-to-launch and waypoint survey missions are written in the firmware. We have not yet published flight results for them.
Needs fixingBattery monitoring: the firmware's reading is fixed at 13.2 V, so the dashboard value is not real and the low-battery failsafe cannot trigger.
Needs dataFormal detection tests, with known objects and measured noise levels in flight, are still to be recorded.
